Environmental and Social Safety Policy

Social and Safety Policy

All the factories from whom Brainstorm Limited purchase goods, are members of an ethical audit scheme. This is either ICTI Care, BSCI or SMETA.

All the factories from whom we purchase goods, have ISO9001 accreditation or have had a quality audit. All products are compliant with the relevant European safety regulations.

We carry out finished goods inspections at the factory and quality is monitored against an in-house process to ensure ongoing product safety and quality.

In reference to the Modern Slavery Act 2015, any evidence of slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour or human trafficking is unacceptable in our supply chain. Our suppliers monitor their own businesses, supply chains and subcontractors on an ongoing basis.

Brainstorm and our suppliers maintain inclusive workplaces that do not tolerate bullying and harassment in any form, whether these acts are committed by a colleague or by a third party towards a colleague.

Brainstorm and our suppliers have a zero-tolerance approach to bribery, corruption, and money laundering, and are committed to acting professionally, fairly and with integrity in all business dealings and relationships. All laws relevant to countering bribery, corruption, and money laundering are upheld.

Brainstorm is a member of the British Toy and Hobby Association.

Environmental Policy

Brainstorm is a member of the Beyondly compliance scheme, ensuring that we meet our producer obligations for plastic packaging tax, waste electrical or electronic equipment (WEEE), wastepaper/packaging and batteries. They are also helping us on our Net Zero journey.

Climate change is a matter of great concern to us as a company and as individuals. We have been measuring our Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions for two years. We are including more of our Scope 3 emissions into our measurements each year.

We aim to reduce our Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 40%+ by 2030. Since our baseline year of 2021, our Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions have reduced by 18.9%.

We achieved our goal of 100% Renewable Electricity in our Gisburn office in August 2023.

We have an aim of eradicating single-use plastic from our products. We have a programme to change all of our blister packed items into a carboard pack using recycled card where possible.

We have so far reduced our plastic importation by 3 tonnes (30%) per annum.
